As with every story there's a beginning.
It all begun with that I wrote applications that would solve a specific problem for me.
As time went by I discovered that I had friends and collegues that had the same problem and might benefit from my applications.
Hence I started distributing the applications by mail.
Soon this type of distribution system got out of hands.
Whenever I made an improvement to any of the applications I had to send a mail to everyone.
Each single person must then update application files and....well you get the picture, the system was less than optimal.
To my rescue came a technology developed by Sun, called Java Web Start.
For the few curious people out there that might wonder who I am I have included a very (very) short resume.
I'm an process instance of the homo sapiens sapiens class with the sex attribute set to male.
I was instantiated back in the days of 1975 when computers had monochrome monitors and the hardware had
the same computing power as todays playing birthday cards.
My parent processes gave my process instance the alias Peter Nerg so that has kind of stuck as my name.
As an instance I've performed all kinds of (more or less useful) tasks.
But I'll have to get back to that some other day...
